About Us
2016 / 2017 / 2018 Divisional Champions (Blue 4 Most Recently)
The Wipeouts Swim Team is a neighborhood summer-only (April – June) recreational swim team that competes against other neighborhood teams. The Wipeouts have been in existence for over 25 years (previously represented Willow Forest neighborhood)
Swimmers are expected to be able to swim the full 25 yards of the pool (new swimmers may need the assistance of the lane ropes) and they should not be afraid to jump into the water.
Other than the coaches, the team is run 100% with volunteers. Each family is responsible for volunteering to work at a minimum amount of hours. We track volunteer effort using a point system and each family must complete a minimum of 20 hours. Please note, 20 hours is a minimum and to actually staff all meets and ancillary positions we need all the help we can get from our wonderful volunteers. Volunteer jobs include lane timers, awards, scorekeepers, etc. We have made the signup process for volunteer jobs during the season as easy as possible. You will be expected to meet the minimum volunteer requirements each year. Any family who does not meet the minimum volunteer 20 hours per season will forfeit their volunteer deposit check. The Wipeouts could not happen without all the parents helping as it takes many volunteers to run multiple Swim Meets (Home and Away), prepare social activities, order gear, throw an end of season party and more! Any money raised by the Wipeouts ultimately goes back to our swimmers and parents by paying for coaching, pools, equipment, social activities, t-shirts, medals, trophies and everything else. This is what makes the Wipeouts fabulous!
Wipeouts Home Meets are held at the Inverness Estates Pool/Clubhouse.
The Wipeouts swim team is part of the Northwest Aquatic League. NWAL is a summer swim league composed of community and subdivision swim teams in the Northwest Houston area. Teams compete every week between mid-May and the end of June. This year the Wipeouts will participate in the Blue 1 Division along with Lakewood Forest Lightning, Kleinwood Dolphins, Colony Creek Mariners, High Meadow Ranch Mustangs and Champions Park Stars. The team will swim meets, rotating between these community pools. Our home pool is Inverness Estates. Practices will be held at our home pool.
The Northwest Aquatic League was formed to create a friendly atmosphere for the benefit and personal satisfaction of our children. The league strives to offer an opportunity for children and young people to challenge themselves, to learn and think in a positive manner, to be part of a team and enjoy the experience of friendly competition and good sportsmanship.
The summer league season is a fast paced 2 month period but everyone who experiences it has a great time, makes new friends and looks forward to the next year.
